Tips on how to check Yamaha Outboard Engine Propeller Components

Hello Bahari pals, on this occasion we will explain about checking tips about Yamaha outboard engine propeller components, for an example we will used Yamaha F20CMH outboard engine type. The Yamaha F20CMH 4-Stroke outboard engine is not widely used by fisherman, government agencies, water sports owners or for private use because this engine is tough, powerful and fuel efficient. The 4-Stroke F20CMH engine itself has a capacity of 362 cc, has 2 pistons and 2 cylinders, uses the tiller handle to operate it, still uses a carburetor to mix gasoline + air and also uses a manual starter to start the engine.

The Propeller component on 4-Stroke F20CMH engine is one of the most important components on maintaining the performance of Yamaha outboard engine, so you must always check every part around the propeller component, starting from the propeller according to the standard or not, the propeller shaft and also checking for leaks at propeller seal.

1. Checking Propeller

Propeller check can be done by looking at the propeller standard specifications that already printed on
The propeller [9 ¼ (Diameter) X 10 (Pitch) – J1 (Propeller Mark for F20CMH)]

2.  Checking Propeller Shaft

Checking the propeller shaft (propeller rod) by applying grease to all sides of the propeller shaft and cleaning the dirt and fishing line on the propeller shaft. Dirt and fishing line can hinder the performance of propeller shaft so that when the engine operates there will be a decrease in the resulting performance.

3. Checking Propeller Seal Leaks

Always check whether there is a leak or not in the oil seal in the propeller housing by using the SST (Special Service Tool) Leakage Tester, it can be seen that if the tool is at 100KPa and doesn’t drop directly, it can be said that the oil seal is still safe, but if it drops directly there may an indication of a leak in the seal so you must immediately replace it with a new one.
