Hello Bahari Pals, Indonesian waters have distributed many Yamaha 40PK 2-Stroke outboard engines, where this engine widely used by fishermen, government agencies, water sport owners and even for personal use because this engine is tough and robust. The E40G / E407J engine has the capacity of 669 ccs, two pistons and cylinder, uses handle tilter to operate it, uses a carburetor to mix gasoline + Yamalube 2-Stroke oil and air and uses manual starter to start the engine.
The ignition component or commonly called the electrical component on the Yamaha E40G / E40J 2-Stroke outboard engine is very important to maintaining engine performance from constant and perfect combustion. If there is a problem in the ignition or electrical circuit, the engine performance will decrease. Therefore, it is essential to maintain the component circuit periodically.
1. Checking the spark plugs
Check the spark plug by attaching the spark plug to the body of the power unit then immediately pulling the engine manual recoil starter (cranking) and see if there is electricity coming out of the spark plug or not.
2. Ignition Coil Check
Check the CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) by checking the orange output cable using a Tespen screwdriver.
3. Checking the Output from the CDI
Check the CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) can be done by checking the orange output cable using a Tespen screwdriver.
4. Pulser Coil Check
Check the Pulser Coil checks by measuring the electrical resistance with an Avometer.
5. Checking the Charge Coil
Check the Charge Coil by measuring its electrical resistance with an Avometer.
